As the world tuned in to the high-stakes spectacle of the 2026 World Cup, a very different struggle played out just blocks away from the packed stadiums. This design exposes the sharp contrast between global celebration and local displacement in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Featuring a grim referee holding yellow and red cards over a burning net, flanked by police barricades and heavy machinery sweeping through encampments, the artwork captures a community pushed to the margins to clean up the city’s image for the cameras.

THE UNTOLD STORY
Cash, Dope & Infamy (CDI) is a street-level commentary from the heart of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.  We create designs for apparel that is  heavier duty than than a typical DTES brand.  We aren't hoping to flog as much cheap merch for as much profit as we can suck out of the population of the DTES on welfare day.  This is for the people who actually keep the block alive - the survivors, the hustlers, and the local legends who weather the storms of judgment, broken promises, fake do-gooders, and slumlord non-profits every single day.

We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we take our survival personally. Wear us with pride, or don't.
